The “Safe”
This cabinet was designed and fabricated primarily by Michael before and during his time at 12th Avenue Iron. It is designed to house a large art jewelry collection and has a complex locking mechanism that secures each drawer with 2 steel pins when the hub at the top is turned. The hub itself is locked from within the hinged center cabinet, leaving just one small key to keep track of. Some of the photos shown omit the wood slab top in favor of showing the lock clearly.
Makore, hard maple, Austrailian She-Oak, mild steel, and bronze.
