200 Ton Series Ashtrays
This series of ashtrays are all formed from very heavy gauge steel plate (1-1/2 to 2” thick) using a vintage 200 ton hydraulic press from a defunct railroad factory. The blanks are flame cut from the plate, leaving a distinctive pattern on the cut surfaces, then heated to about 1900 degrees and placed in the press where a variety of shaping platens are used to create the final shapes. The finish is paste wax. While they are not designed specifically for outdoor use, they would easily make it through a Northwest winter on the deck with only superficial rusting. Weighing up to 25 pounds each, they make quite a statement in your smoking area.
